Shane offers integrative counseling services to adult individuals and teens in Pacifica and Berkeley. He enjoys providing depth-oriented, long-term therapy as well as short-term work and crisis intervention. He is direct, engaged, and invites an authentic relationship with his clients to help them heal from difficult past experiences, to skillfully navigate the challenges of daily life, and to deepen personal growth. For those interested, Shane offers outdoor therapy in natural settings as an adjunct to sessions held in the office. In addition to private pay, Shane accepts Medi-Cal in San Mateo County and is a provider on the Cigna and MHN health insurance panels.
Shane completed his graduate training at the California Institute of Integral Studies and received post-graduate training with the Hakomi Institute of California, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute, and the AEDP Institute. His work with clients is deeply informed by systems theory, in particular, Ecopsychology. He has worked in both private practice and in community mental health.
Shane is also the former administrative director of Holos and still very actively involved as an advisor and volunteer.
When not working, Shane spends as much time as possible in wild places with the people and animals he calls family.
