What holds you back from living the life you want to live?

Each of us has the capacity to live fully from a place of inner clarity and joy, yet all too often we get stuck in patterns that separate us from others and cut us off from our inner wisdom.

emily-(1)bWhen we suffer from experiences like depression, anxiety, self-criticism, failed relationships, or addiction it can be hard to see another way. We feel hopeless and helpless. Psychotherapy offers a pathway home to our deepest nature, where we can find freedom from the patterns that hold us back.

I seek to provide guidance and support along the path. Grounded in the belief that even our most painful patterns are rooted in a desire for healing and wholeness, my work honors this deep longing as it is uniquely expressed by each client.
I work holistically, attending to the wisdom of the mind, body, soul and spirit and drawing on the strengths of each to support the whole person. To this end I weave together psychodynamic, somatic, storytelling, mindfulness and ecopsychological methods, adapted to each person’s needs at any particular time.

I have an M.A. in Integral Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies. Before becoming a psychotherapist I spent 15 years in public relations for technology companies in San Francisco. I bring to my work a personal understanding of the pressures of seeking balance in an urban environment within a high pressure career. As a mother and stepmother, I have a deep compassion for the unique challenges of parenting and partnering in a blended family.

When I’m out of the office I enjoy being in wild nature, spending time with my family, and experimenting in my kitchen.
